The most important thing to know is that we are at ‘Km 151 (N340) Direction Cadiz’ If you show this to any petrol station attendant / policeman etc., they will be able to put you on the right road and in the correct direction.
-
When leaving Malaga Airport keep in the right - hand lane all the time and head for Cadiz or Algeciras.
-
After 3-4 kms you pass Punto supermarket & BMW & Suzuki showrooms. Then there is a two-lane slip road with a blue sign A7-AP7-E15 Cadiz/Algeciras. Follow this, NOT the blue sign ahead to Torremolinas.
-
Once on this road you can move from the slow lane if you wish. The top of the hill is around 10 kms. There is a service station half way up.
-
Going down the other side, keep in the middle or fast lane as you will need to follow the AP-7 / E15 Peaje (toll) road. The total cost of the Peaje (two sections) is currently a total of €5 - €6, or €9 – 10€ in the summer and special holidays. There is a service station on each section. After a while you will arrive at the first pay station at Calahonda.
-
Quite a few Kilometers further on and you will pass a huge commercial development called, La Cañada / Al Campo on your right. Marbella is the metropolis on the left. Keep going and when the road splits, keep on the AP-7 / E15 Peaje road. You will come to a second pay station at San Pedro. Pay here and continue on this road.
-
After what seems forever you'll arrive at the outskirts of Estepona. Ignore all signs to come off. Keep heading for Cadiz / Algeciras / Estepona but you are now on the A7 road. Avoid the tunnel leading to the AP-7 / E15 Peaje and keep in the right hand lane that takes you up a small hill. At the roundabout at the top you will see “ESTEPONA” in small stones laid on grass. Take the A7 (3rd exit) towards Cadiz / Algeciras. (Do NOT take the AP-7 / E15)
-
You will come down a hill with a quarry on the right. . (If you are travelling at night, you’ll just have to trust us that it is there!! A large roundabout with "ESTEPONA" in 5 ft high concrete letters and some wonderful palm trees is at the bottom of the hill.
-
Keep in the left-hand lane and drive around the roundabout, parking at the Shell petrol station. You can pick up basic provisions here and then phone me on your mobile or at the payphone. It takes us 5 minutes to get to Shell.
